What is the Student Librarians club?

The Student Librarians club is a group of dedicated students who help with a vaiety of tasks in the library such as reviewing and promoting books and other library resources, developing themed displays and organising library events. The club aims to foster a love for reading, promote literacy at VSA and support the VSA community. We don't have a fixed meeting time, so you need to be great at organising and managing your own time.

What do Student Librarians do?

Over the course of the year you will need to complete at least 25 activities (1 per week). Each activitiy should take about 1 hour to complete. Student Librarians don't help with shelving or checking out books. You can't complete the same task two weeks in a row. You will work on these independently each week, and submit them using the . Choose from one of these activities each week:

You can propose any task that you think would be good for the library and would help VSA students. It can be a one-off task (1 hour) or something that takes longer but you need to work on it for one hour per week. Jobs that students have completed in the past have included choosing items from Taobao to decorate the library, oragnising a library escape room, and many more.

The deadline for each weekly task is Wednesday at 5pm. If you miss more than 2 deadlines, you won't be eligible to join the Student Librarian Club in the following term.

How can I apply?

  1. Submit by Thursday 19th September 5pm

  2. Selected applicants will be invited for a brief interview

  3. Successful interviewees will begin a one-month trial period

  4. After the trial, confirmed candidates will join our team for one semester
